The Dallas String Quartet, led by award winning violist Ion Zanca, takes you on a journey to the nexus of classical music and modern pop where artists like Beethoven and Bono collide. Accompanied by cellist Gaston Colloca and violinists Melissa Priller and Tatiana Glava, DSQ performs as both a traditional and electrical quartet enabling them to reach audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
This eclectic group feels right at home in a wide variety of genres. They have opened for artists such as Air Supply and Kenny G, and have played alongside Josh Groban, Chicago, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
With the help of custom made electric instruments and amplification, DSQ transcends the avenues of the traditional string quartet taking their music to vast events in NFL stadiums and NBA half time shows. In January of 2013, DSQ had the honor of performing for one of President Obama's Inaugural Balls in Washington D.C. DSQ has also performed for personalities such as former U.S. President George W. Bush, Texas Governor Rick Perry, and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The quartet was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal, ESPN, Fox 4's "Good Day" program, WFAA Good Morning Texas, and WRR 101.1 classical radio station. DSQ's music can be heard on iheart radio, Pandora, and Sirius XM.
