Wax careOur mission is to provide assistance with food, utilities, gasoline, aide for elderly and to help in emergenct situations.

Financial help comes from churches, businesses, United Way, North Texas Food Bank, grants, civic groups, organizations and caring individuals.

In 2012 we were awarded the Outstanding Agenecy Award by the North Texas Food Bank. Only one of three agencies out of over 300 to receive a highly honored award.

 

How to Help

At Waxahachie CARE we have several oppurtunities for volunteers to shine in - office help, food pantry help, PR relations, fundraising activites and computer help just to name a few!

There are three easy steps to becoming a volunteer:

  • 1. Come by Waxahachie CARE and speak with our director, LindaNaizer
  • 2. Complete the Volunteer Application (which can be found here on
  • our website or in person at our office)
  • 3. Watch a short training video at our office

Qualifications:

Everyone is welcome to volunteer! High school students, college students, youth groups, church groups, families and kids!

Anyone under the age of 14 needs to have a supervisor or parent accompany them.

Volunteer Hours:

  • Monday , Wed, Thurs 8am - 2pm
  • Tuesday 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday 8am - 12pm

We will also open for volunteers in church groups and youth groups on weekends to do cleaning, stocking, packing, etc.

Additionally,if your group would like to go to the North Texas Food Bank and volunteer for several hours, please designate your time to be applied to Waxahachie Care and we will get credit on our food bill for your time spent there.
