GRANDMOTHER-MOTHER-DAUGHTER TEA

The 4th Annual Grandmother-Mother-Daughter Tea took place at Sims Library on Saturday, May 5th. Women and girls of all ages were present at the event held at the library in May every year near Mother’s Day.

Guests sat at tables decorated with flowers, bows and confetti and enjoyed finger sandwiches, cupcakes, cookies, candy, punch and tea. Entertainment included music performed by harpist Laura Bosse and an encouraging speech to “dream big” from Eileen Garrett, a grandmother who has been dreaming big her entire life. Garrett shared stories from her childhood, including paper dolls and drawing, and of her hobby of collecting dolls. Her imagination and creativity has led to designing patterns for pattern companies and magazines and recent work for American Girl dolls.

Nicholas P. Sims Library always has a calendar full of entertaining and educational events for children, teens, and adults, with an especially full calendar of fun and exciting activities for children and teens during the summer.
